Robert P. Mason, (Bob Mason) of Harrisburg, PA, passed away peacefully at home on March 23, 2007, with his wife at his side, following his valiant two-year battle with cancer.

A resident of Harrisburg, PA, he entered this world on January 23, 1950, to the late Emily A. and James N. Law. Bob Mason graduated from William Penn High School in 1969 as the captain and all-star offensive and defensive lineman (#74) for the Tigers.

Retiring from the State Library of Pennsylvania after 27 years of dedicated service, he will be fondly remembered as an avid history buff, whose friendly good-natured, down to earth manner captivated a wealth of patrons seeking news and genealogical research.

This loving, devoted husband is survived by his dedicated, faithful wife of eight years, Mrs. Barbara J. Mason; his beautiful children, Tracy Mason-Hickson, Kimberly Mason, Rasool Mason, Kyuati Bethea, Rondu Bethea, Darek Jagiela; his caring sisters, Lauren Hurd and Charlotte Nelson; 35 grandchildren, 1 nephew, 6 nieces, a host of grand-nephews and nieces and 1 great grand-niece on her way. During his lifetime he has collected a multitude of loyal friends too numerous to mention.

Services will be held Friday, March 30, 2007 at 3: 15 p.m., at Goodwin Memorial Baptist Church, 2447 Green Street, Harrisburg, PA 17110, in the Family Life Center.
